What Is WUI Construction? 

WUI standards are state-regulated guidelines for building in zones where wildland and residential areas meet. These zones carry increased wildfire risk and require more stringent material choices, construction methods, and design features.

Fire-Resistant Building Practices We Use 

1. Class A Roofing Systems

• We install fire-rated roofing materials such as concrete tiles or metal that resist ignition from wind-blown embers. 

2. Non-Combustible Exterior Siding

• We use materials like fiber cement board, masonry, stone, or stucco to reduce flammability and slow potential fire spread. 

3. Ember-Resistant Vents & Screens

• All attic and crawlspace vents are protected with 1/8” metal mesh screens to prevent ember intrusion. 

4. Deck & Soffit Protections

• We build with ignition-resistant materials for decks, fascia, and soffits to protect vulnerable understructures from flame exposure. 

5. Defensible Space & Site Planning

• We integrate landscaping strategies that reduce vegetation close to the home, create fuel breaks, and use fire-resistant plant species.
